With the release of the A Wave of Change and The Collective Effort to End Deforestation reports, March bought us valuable insights. The reports saw a 27% increase in companies disclosing on deforestation and a 20% increase in companies disclosing on water security in 2020. Whilst these are encouraging statistics, the reports also found that companies disclosing through CDP’s water security and forests questionnaires risk losing up to a combined US$301 billion in business value if they do not address water risks and a total of US$53.1 billion worth of risks from deforestation. As we reflect on these findings and take steps towards building a climate safe, deforestation free, water secure future, we encourage you to review our accredited solution providers programme offering support for companies through every stage from ambition to strategy to action.
