Job Purpose and Background
The SBTi Senior Technical Manager is a new position. The postholder will work to help develop technical resources, guidance and tools to drive the adoption of climate targets in line with the ambition required to limit warming to 1.5°C with a special focus on industry and heavy emitting sectors. A core responsibility will be to lead a project intended to develop guidance to inform 1.5°C-aligned targets in the built environment or steel sectors. You will report to the SBTi Senior Technical Manager and will be part of the SBTi Technical Working Group.

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a joint initiative between CDP, UN Global Compact, the World Resources Institute, and World Wildlife Fund, aiming to catalyze change towards a net-zero economy by driving the adoption of GHG emission reduction targets in the corporate sector that are consistent with the ambition required to keep temperature increase well-below 2°C. This is a full-time role reporting to the Senior Technical Manager, SBTs and based in our office in Berlin or London but would be temporarily working from home. Interested applicants must be eligible to work legally in the UK or Europe. We cannot sponsor this role.
