Companies must eliminate deforestation and conversion of other ecosystems from their supply chains to meet climate and nature targets as well as comply with emerging regulatory requirements.
The CDP forests questionnaire tracks company performance on eliminating deforestation from agricultural and forestry supply chains. In 2023, a record-breaking 1,152 companies disclosed to the questionnaire. This report examines indicators of progress towards deforestation- and conversion-free supply chains that were developed in partnership with the Accountability Framework initiative.
2023 was the first year companies disclosed their methods and progress towards deforestation- and conversion-free supply chains in a standardized format through CDP. The report found that the “figures indicate that many companies are working to meet these new disclosure expectations while others are not yet able or willing to provide this information.”
