Each year, hundreds of cities around the world report their climate change and sustainability data through CDP-ICLEI Track, along with an increasing number of states and regions. This data is publicly available and used by a range of stakeholders to inform policy and investor decisions. Among other examples, the data is a key contributor to the UNFCCC's Global Climate Action Portal and was a prominent feature in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)'s latest reports on the global status of adaptation and mitigation, released earlier this year. The data collected through CDP and ICLEI is therefore a powerful tool in assessing the progress that local and subnational governments are taking to address environmental and climate-related issues, and a valuable resource enabling cities, states and regions themselves to benchmark their performance against peers and identify areas for improvement.
This webinar will provide an introduction to cities, states and regions' climate and sustainability data, enabling you to access and make use of the data for your own needs. The webinar is for cities, states, regions reporting through CDP and ICLEI, as well as any other organizations interested in using our data.
