David J. Wolfson – CHAIR
David is the Executive Director of Milbank LLP, an international law firm. As Executive Director, David works with the Chairman and the firm’s Executive Committee to manage the firm globally. He joined Milbank in 1993 and has been a Partner since 2003.
David is currently an adjunct professor at NYU as part of the Animal Studies Initiative within the Environmental Studies Department, where he teaches Animal Protection and Public Policy, and has previously taught Animal Law at Columbia Law School, NYU School of Law and Harvard Law School. He is a graduate of Columbia School of Law where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and Duke University. David represents a number of animal protection groups on a pro bono basis and has published extensively in the animal protection area and worked on numerous policy initiatives in this space, with a focus on issues around animal agriculture. He has recently focused on the interaction between animal agriculture and climate and environmental issues.
David Lubin
Dr. David A. Lubin has more than 25 years of experience successfully founding and managing media, technology and consulting firms that have become world leaders in the field of corporate performance management, business analytics and interactive media. He previously served as Co-Chairman, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Renaissance Solutions, and Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of the Palladium Group, firms that developed and advanced the use of several leading business analytic tools, including the Balanced Scorecard. David also was Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of Spectrum Interactive, a pioneering firm in multimedia technology and on-line learning. David was Chairman of the Sustainability Innovators Working Group, a research consortium he established with Professor Daniel C. Esty of Yale University. David most recently served as Co-Founder and Managing Director of Constellation Research and Technology, Inc., and Signal Climate Analytics, Inc.
David received his doctorate in Human Development from Harvard University and has served on the faculty at Harvard and Tufts, and as a lecturer at the Yale Sustainability Leadership Forum. David’s work on sustainability has been published in the Harvard Business Review and MIT Sloan Review, Reuters, and by Morgan Stanley, the UN Global Compact, IFC/ World Bank, and others. He holds a U.S. patent on interactive multi-media.
Dorota Laughlin
Dorota currently serves as Director of Operations at Animals Australia, Australia’s leading animal protection organization. Prior to this, she led finance and operations for environmental nonprofit organizations in New York and in Melbourne, held various managerial roles in private and corporate entities and successfully set up and divested her own business venture. Dorota is a multi-lingual and culturally aware global citizen, having studied and worked across the globe. She holds an M. Eng. in Architecture and Town Planning from the University of Lodz and an Executive MBA from the University of Quebec in Montreal.
Dorota was propelled on her vegetarian journey over 20 years ago and has a passion for change and bold ideas that challenge the status quo and shift perspectives toward an equitable and sustainable future.
Alya Z. Kayal
Alya currently serves as Co-Founder and Senior Advisor at ImpactARC LLC, an independent women-owned sustainable finance consultancy dedicated to increasing the quantity and quality of capital being channeled towards positive environmental and social impact. She supports global clients on impact investment strategies, thematic and sustainability-linked funding, impact verification and evaluation, stakeholder engagement and impact education. Prior to this, Alya was a Partner at Affirmative Investment Management, an impact fixed income firm where she supported teams on the sustainability verification of impact bonds, engage with issuers and stakeholders, and conduct impact reporting. In 2011, as the Director of Policy and Programs at US SIF, she helped advance sustainable investment policy and member education. From 2004-2011, Alya led Sustainability Research at Calvert Investments, where she managed ESG research and analytics for sustainable investment funds across asset classes. In 1994, Alya worked at the US Department of Labor’s International Labor Affairs Bureau to document and publish a Congressional report on child and forced labor.
Alya holds a JD from University of Minnesota Law School in international human rights law and a BA in Sociology and Communications from Rutgers University. She is a member of the Washington DC Bar. Alya is also a Board Member of BreaktheTide, a non-profit charity that provides financial support to empower women, children and disadvantaged communities around the world. For most of her career, Alya focused on impact investing, human rights and environmental justice, with a sharp focus on the impact of climate change on women, workers, indigenous peoples and vulnerable communities.
Sherri Hammons
Sherri Hammons has more than 27+ years of experience as a Chief Technology Officer in developing and executing Information Technology strategies and innovations in various sectors, both locally and internationally. Her experience includes working through IPO’s, private equity M&A, venture capital and angel investment. She has also served in both government and nonprofit sectors as CTO for the State of Colorado and The Nature Conservancy. Her expertise lies in innovation through the use of data and information. She has been recognized for her innovations with multiple awards including Innovator of the Year in Education, CIO 100 Award for 4 consecutive years, and Colorado Technology Professionals Technology Executive of the Year. As a public speaker, she has empowered women and young girls in their own technology journey. She has served on various boards, both public, private and nonprofit. In 2023, she was a Strategic Advisor for CDP’s global board.
She holds a degree in business administration from the University of Oklahoma, as well as a degree in computer science from Rogers State University. She is retired, though she continues to mentor and advise people and entities who are like minded in her belief that we must protect our planet. Before her tenure in technology, she was a professional musician for 8 years, which was a perfect platform for her ultimate journey to software engineering and technology. She remains passionate about music and plays in a duo from time to time.
