Australia, Asia Pacific – Score, A
With 74% of Brambles’ revenue coming from timber products, deforestation and climate change are vital issues for the business. To monitor, manage and limit its risk, the company set up the Sustainability Risk Committee to align its environmental objectives with those of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In doing so, the company is committed to sourcing 100% of its timber from certified sources, achieving zero-waste at all its sites and assisting its customers in reducing greenhouse emissions. With the introduction of the Share and Repair scheme, Brambles has already been able to save 1.4 million trees from being felled in 2016 and reduce 14.3% of carbon per unit of goods delivered. Brambles is collaborating with an increasing number of customers to effectively tackle deforestation.
