In 2022, 18,600+ organizations disclosed through CDP’s climate change questionnaire, of which 4,100 disclosed that they had already developed a 1.5°C-aligned climate transition plan. Findings from CDP’s recent report Are Companies Developing Credible Climate Transition Plans show that of these 4,100 organizations, 81 reported sufficient detail to all 21 key indicators in the climate change questionnaire that align with a credible climate transition plan. These 81 organizations represent just 0.4% of the entire disclosure sample in 2022 (18,600+). A credible, 1.5°C-aligned climate transition plan demonstrates to stakeholders not only that your organisation takes the risks associated with climate change seriously, but that you have taken practical steps to chart a course toward a climate-safe future. Developing a plan, however, is only the first step. To avoid dangerous climate change, all organisations must now urgently deliver against these commitments, disclosing on progress along the way. Whether your organisation is yet to develop a credible climate transition plan, or you have a plan in place and are looking for expert support to match your organization’s ambition, CDP’s accredited solutions providers are here to help.
