CDP’s 2024 disclosure cycle saw increased corporate reporting on the topics of climate change, water security and forests. In addition, many corporates also reported biodiversity and plastics data, driving a more holistic approach to reporting than ever before. More holistic data will empower organizations to better assess the environmental risks, impacts and opportunities in their operations, supply chain, product and service offerings and financial decisions. Overall, the disclosure cycle saw more than 24,800 companies, worth two-thirds of global market capitalization, report their environmental data through CDP’s questionnaires.
2024 was a critical milestone in CDP’s efforts to better support and empower SMEs across major and emerging markets. More than 12,500 companies disclosed through our new SME questionnaire and started their journey from disclosure to data-driven action. Another crucial piece of action catalyzing supply chain sustainability was effective supplier engagements. Suppliers reported that engagement with buyers led to emissions reductions of 43 million tonnes, equivalent to more than the total emissions of Sweden.
As you prepare for the 2025 disclosure cycle, consider collaborating with an Accredited Solutions Provider to accelerate your organization's journey towards environmental leadership.
