The CDP Private Markets Program facilitates engagement, disclosures and data insights on private companies. Financial Institutions’ can leverage CDP disclosure for a comprehensive baseline and subsequent monitoring of private portfolios through relevant benchmarking.
Asset owners can engage with asset managers on portfolio company level and fund level disclosures as relevant.
As financial institutions assess and address their financed emissions, the lack of standardized disclosures and insights on environmental impacts presents a clear risk to their portfolios and broader climate transition strategies. While climate reporting among publicly traded companies has become increasingly mainstream, standardized disclosures are lagging for private companies.
CDP questionnaires are aligned with TCFD recommendations, ISSB S2 recommendations with ongoing alignment with the ESRS and TNFD. Companies can disclose through the 2024 full corporate questionnaire or new SME corporate questionnaire (as applicable).
Portfolio companies get capacity-building support through webinars, tailored guidance documents and a dedicated helpdesk.
Scores will be available to the requesting authorities in 2024, but they will not be available publicly.
