CDP Disclosure 2026

Environmental disclosure enables organizations to uncover data and insights that offer immediate value, while building long-term resilience.

Last year, over 23,100 organizations responded to the continued market demand for disclosure data. This year, we are laser-focused on simplifying the disclosure process with improved guidance, navigation support and more.

The corporate questionnaire and guidance are now available to explore in the CDP Portal. The cities, states and regions questionnaires and guidance will be available in due course.

About CDP

Why disclose?

This makes it easier to share information back to the market in one dataset. Our corporate questionnaire already has strong alignment with the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), and Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD).

This year, we are strengthening this alignment by expanding to ocean, enhancing our forests scope, and improving plastics questions.

Frameworks and standards

Organizations that disclose before the scoring deadline receive a CDP score, with a strong score serving as a byword for environmental excellence.

Scores and A List

For example, CDP data is used to strengthen procurement requirements and build supply chain resilience (L’Oreal), create indices that track science-based targets (Euronext), and inform stronger policymaking (IPCC and World Bank).

Changes to CDP 2026 questionnaire

Changes to the 2026 questionnaire

In 2026, we will be making some changes to the questionnaire to support organizations navigating an increasingly complex global landscape. From accelerating climate impacts to resource insecurity and biodiversity loss, markets need intelligence that fills critical data gaps.

High quality data helps organizations navigate risk, build resilience and identify opportunities for Earth-positive action.

CDP’s 2026 updates are designed to strengthen the link between data and action. We are committed to:

  • Deepening alignment with global standards;

  • Expanding our coverage to ocean; and

  • Enhancing the usability and accessibility of the data we surface.

CDP disclosure provides unrivalled alignment with the growing body of environmental frameworks and standards. By bringing frameworks and standards together in one questionnaire we simplify the process, making it easier to share information back to the market in one dataset.

CDP’s corporate questionnaire already has strong alignment with the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), and Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). This year, we are deepening our alignment with the TNFD, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Science Based Targets Network (SBTN), Greenhouse Gas Protocol, and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Global Commitment on Plastics.

Organizations can also volunteer or ‘self-disclose' to CDP as a ‘Self-Selected Company’ (ie they’ve not received a request to disclose, but wish to do so).

New users will need to request access to the CDP Portal by registering to disclose.

Learn more about how to disclose including topline, step-by-step instructions. In-depth guidance covering key steps in the disclosure process is available on the CDP Help Center.

Yes, organizations can ‘self-disclose' to CDP as a ‘Self-Selected Company’ (SSC), if they’ve not received a request to disclose, but wish to do so.

CDP is committed to making life easier for companies that want to disclose, both in the questions we set and the technology we use.

In 2026, we are laser-focused on simplifying the process:

  • Technological updates such as improved guidance, navigation support and contextual explanations

  • Opt-in to disclose against the most relevant topics during questionnaire set-up

  • Updated guidance for our full corporate and SME questionnaires, with changes to improve readability

  • Expanded nature coverage to include ocean plus the introduction of optional forest and water questions for SMEs

  • Enhanced data ingestion capabilities, so organizations can upload data directly or reuse previously reported information

We’re making a number of product improvements this year:

  • Enhancing data accessibility: outbound API for supply chain data and response data access, supplier progress tracking within internal systems for members

  • Better scoring: new capabilities to reduce manual functionality

  • Improving data quality and integrity: new cultural settings to improve user experience in regions, plus improvements to company identification, questionnaire set-up, tags and sectoral alignment

  • Clearer signposting: “visible tags” to illustrate alignment with frameworks and standards

Meanwhile, we’ve made updates to our questionnaire to strengthen our alignment with frameworks and standards in a rapidly evolving market. Learn more about these changes, above.

Investors use data disclosed through CDP:

  • To create products: integrating data within criteria for investable universes and thematic funds;

  • For risk management and due diligence: identifying and assessing exposure to material risks across portfolios and during asset allocation – banks prefer financing companies with a credible transition plan;

  • To engage stakeholders: enhancing stewardship and engagement approaches, and embedding CDP data within net-zero alignment and transition plan assessments of portfolio companies; and

  • For reporting: using CDP data to disclose portfolio alignment and impact and risk metrics, supporting progress against net-zero targets and transition plan implementation.
